Organisation

3TU.Federation
3TU.Datacentrum is a joint cooperation of the three technical university libraries, operating under the umbrella of the 3TU.Federation (established in February 2007): TU Delft Library, TU Eindhoven Information Expertise Centre and University of Twente Library & Archive.

Project organisation
3TU.Datacentrum was launched in 2008 as a project organisation. In 2008, a pilot was carried out at one of the Centres of Excellence of the 3TU.Federation. Following a positive evaluation, this was rolled out to the other Centres. The organisational form is thus being adapted to the new situation.

Project management
The project management is carried out by
TU Delft Library.

Steering group
The Project Management answers to the Steering group, which consists of the librarians of the 3 technical universities and representatives of the finance committee of the 3TU Federation:

  • Peter Daalmans MSc (University of Twente Library & Archive)
  • Jeanne Figdor MSc (TU Eindhoven Information Expertise Centre)
    • Wilma van Wezenbeek MSc (TU Delft Library)

Advisory Council
The project management and steering group are supported by the advisory council, consisting of university administrators and material experts:

  • Professor Jacob Fokkema (TU Delft)
  • Dr Kees Eijkel (Strategy and Communication Group Governance, University of Twente, with special responsibility for knowledge validation)
  • Professor Peter Hilbers (Biomedical Engineering TU Eindhoven)
  • Professor Pieter Hooimeijer (Geosciences, Social Geography and Planology, University of Utrecht, chairman of the DANS advisory council)
  • Willem Luxemburg MSc (Civil Engineering and Geosciences TU Delft, involved from the beginning of DARELUX)

Department of Research and Knowledge Transfer (RATS)

  • 3TU.Datacentrum has set up a special department for research into issues surrounding long-term storage of and permanent access to technical-scientific data. Since there are barely any standards and best practices available in the Netherlands, we consider knowledge distribution to be an important task.
