About 3TU.Datacentrum

Every day, huge volumes of digital research data are obtained through experiments, observations and simulations. 3TU.Datacentrum deploys its knowledge, experience and tools in order to secure the long-term storage and permanent accessibility-and, with that, reusability-of these data sets. In the coming years, our staff will be building a data archive for the technical sciences, and in addition to this, another of our tasks will be to provide consultancy on sustainable archiving.

3TU.Datacentrum is a collaboration of the libraries of the three technical universities which together form the 3TU.Federation. Professional storage, retrieval and provision of technical-scientific publications has always been the core task of the technical university libraries. We have long experience with digital archiving. For example, we manage repositories-digital archives in which the complete texts of the university's publications are stored and can be consulted online. We also provide advanced information services and products to support students and academics in their studies and work processes.

3TU.Datacentrum is building on products and experience gained in the SURF project DARELUX (Data Archiving River Environment LUXembourg) Old version New version. Important pioneering work was carried out in this in the area of digital sustainability in relation to technical-scientific data.
